Luxurious black velvet lapels are one of the highlight of this durable black cotton denim coat, which is fully lined in rich black satin. Six ornate metal buttons decorate the front and two at the waist in back. Sleeves feature three ornate buttons at the cuff. Made in the USA. Recommend dry clean only. Available in sizes S-2X.
To measure your chest: Raise your arms slightly and measure just under your arms. Be sure to cross over the shoulder blades and the fullest part of the chest. If your belly measures larger than your chest, use the larger measure.

This was the last of the items that I unwrapped, keeping the best for last. And best it was, I have never seen a greater Coat! I always wanted a tailcoat since I was a child, but somehow did not like the standard tails they usually wear for concerts. This one is just perfect, and the fit is good. Wearing this tailcoat you WILL draw attention from EVERYBODY around, even if they don't look curious. The price is such a great deal that I would order another one, if I didn't have a number of other coats from Historical Emporium on my whish list.

Well worth the money, this tailcoat fits snug and is dazzling to look at. The material felt great as well. Overall, this is a superb piece of gentleman's clothing that can be worn to any formal occasion, whether it be a ball, opera, or whatever. Very nice, but too small for a larger man. something of this sort may have to be tailored if you are of an odd size. Much too tight in the shoulders for me even the tapestry tailcoat in 3X was too small though. Having said that this does not reflect poorly on the product which I am sure I would have been very happy with.

I must say, I like this much better "in person" than I expected. I was dubious about the pointed front and, like the Sovereign tailcoat, the collar and lapels are completely inaccurate for the period impression. However, in black, the lack of contrast helps to disguise the glaring fault! The styling of the tails are excellent, really sexy from the back! The "small" size fit my husband well, even though according to the size chart, he should've been a medium. Slim, broad chested guys might want to take note. I thought I might want to change out the buttons for plainer fabric covered ones, but the silver is growing on me. Quite a nice choice for an off-the-rack coat in a pinch.

Just as advertised. I bought a complete costume and after some (not inconsiderable) efforts to deal with the new customer security verification was happy with the product!
Word to the wise, if your a new customer... choose to check your credit card account via phone or online and use that to verify your id, I had a few difficulties that delayed things a few days due to recent changes in address, but customer service was decent in working through things particularly via phone.

This is the center piece to my steampunk outfit for our wedding in the fall. This is doubling as my Texas Ren Fest outfit also. I am a slender guy: 6'2" 140. I bought a medium because of my long arms even though I knew the chest was going to be super big. Took this and other GE items to my tailor. He is going to have some difficulty tailoring it because apparently there are no tradition seams under the arms in order to take in the torso. So he is not sure how he will make it smaller but he seems to think it will be possible. The material is fabulous and the price is well worth it. I would like to see the buttons a little more secure however that is a personal preference and does not reflect the truth quality of the coat. The two small pockets in the back are a plus.

A fine garment, very well made and of an excellent sizing for me. Buttons are only for display purposes, but are well made, and well connected. Mine was a size L and it fit my 6ft 3" tall midsize frame excellently. Price was very reasonable for the quality of the garment.

I bought this tailcoat for my son and husband as we are part of an English Country dance group for a local museum. The coat is of excellent quality; the sizing was spot on - no alterations will be needed. The coats were delivered extremely quickly and packed well - out of the box and on the backs with no fuss! We give a big halloween party every year, and your costume is not only required but talked about. It's not about judgement, but it is best that you are accurate. I have to say after the extensive research that I did this coat was very much the closest I could get without paying 500 dollars to a regency period tailcoat. I imagine that there won't be many complaints about the quality of my costume this year at the big bash.
I have been happy with almost everything I have purchased here. The only exceptions have been on my part when ordering wrong sizes. Disappointed with myself, but customer service has always been great.
