This coat vest and tie was well made and wore it for a Moulin Rouge event at Daou vineyards. This is the second time I have had a great experience with Historical Emporium. They shipped quickly and my 42 jacket was spot on in the size comparison of M. I where a 34 in sleeve length and 33 in waist. Well Done!

I bought this (and many other items from Historical Emporium) to create a more authentic Victorian Christmas caroling costume for our professional ensemble. The jacket is soft and comfortable, and gets all sorts of compliments. It's warm without being too hot. That's big because we perform both inside and outside throughout December. The coat provides a nice look that keeps me warm when outdoors, but not too hot when we come inside. I do wish that there were pockets on the inside for me to put things, but this is not by any means an indication that I am unhappy with the tailcoat. I'll just have someone add a pocket deep inside so I have someplace to put my keys, phone, etc. since the front button Victorian style pants I purchased also don't have any pockets. I highly recommend this tailcoat.

Just beautiful! We purchased two of these for our wedding. One for the bride and one for the groom. We noticed they were out of medium and large and while I have a substantial chest, I was happy to see that the 3X should cover me, but we weren't quite sure about the small for him. However, when we received them we couldn't be happier. They are high quality and fit perfectly with the exception of the sleeves (apparently our arms are a bit shorter than average) but nothing a little tailoring won't fix. We have been searching for matching tailcoats for a while now and are so pleased to have found this site, and these coats. Thankfully, he didn't have a chest that would impede the small from fitting him. :) Overall, this was a great store to purchase from, our order was shipped promptly and we received it quickly. We can't wait to wear these (we are trying to think of someplace to wear them before the wedding since they are so amazing!) Keep up the good work and for those considering, this is worth the price and fits true to the measurements provided.

I purchased this for my husband to wear for the upcoming Edwardian Ball. This is a very well made coat, it is heavy and fully lined, and the brocade pattern is velvety and soft. My husband is in between a L and and XL on the measurement chart, so we went with the XL and it fits very well, does not look oversized on him. The sleeves are a little long but we expected that when going up a size. He looks fantastic in the coat and can't wait to wear it for the ball!

I love it. I am 6' 4" tall with unusually long arms. I ordered the XL and it fits perfect, something I am not used to. Very much looking forward to wearing it for my upcoming wedding.

The tailcoat is just as described. The workmanship is superb. I would highly recommend it.

I'm 5'9", 180 lbs., average build and wear a 40R Tailored or Modern Slim Suit. This coat (M) fit well on my shoulders, but some tailoring was needed for the sleeve cuffs, but I expected that. The silver button detail is great, but would prefer that they be attached a little tighter/closer to the coat because some of the buttons kind of flop downward so you can't see the detail on some of them. However, all in all this coat looks nice and I'm looking forward to wearing at my company's holiday masquerade party. I paired this coat with: Cavalier Vest-Brown Diamond Pattern, Callahan Dress Trousers, Marcus Regency Shirt w/Removable Jabot and Black Elastic Y-back Suspenders (Short)

If you are looking for something that you can dress up in, stand out it, role play in, have fun in, ...this is a piece that does all that. Yes it's a couple of bucks (especially with exchange rate these days) but it's worthy. I'm very happy with the first order I made. I decided to make a second order with a few items to go with this jacket and a second outfit for an up coming trip to NOLA.
