Americans call it a derby, after the Earl of Derby who helped popularize it. But, Englishmen know it as a bowler as it was first introduced in the early-1850's in England and produced by the Bowler Brothers Company. It crossed the pond to America in the 1860's and remained popular well past the turn of the century.
Our best quality derby is made of black wool felt, lined, with a leather sweatband, and just perfect for the period look.

This is much better quality felt than the former "deluxe" model derby (although, to it's credit, after several years of daily use, I have consigned the earlier model to "motorcycle duty" due to wear, yet it is still holding up well even to 65mph!) The new Scala model has become my daily "town" wear hat. I have 4 "Deluxe" derbies, 2 Scala, 2 Capas, in 3 different colors, I wear them all, none feel, or look "costume-ey" As these wear, I will come back for more.

Good looking hat. I took it to western shop to have it steam shaped to fit my head better.
The scarf was very comfortable and soft. I ordered the white scarf and it shipped quickly. When I opened the package, I was surprised at how brightly white the scarf was. It will pair nicely with my outfits.

Bought two of these canvas work vests; black and dark brown. Bought them a size larger than I am, so that I can have full swing of motion and comfort while sitting without unbuttoning the vest.
They are a little stiff when you first wear them but get more supple over time.
Since it is lined, I would like to have had two inside pockets, but if I really want them, I can add them at little cost. So far, I have not determined I need them
