A popular look in the 19th century, jackets similar to our reproduction Victorian Cutaway Morning Coat were spotted during daytime hours on gentleman keeping business and social engagements. A smart alternative to the ubiquitous frock coat of the era.
Our version has peak lapels with one exterior breast pocket and one button to secure the front of the coat. Two interior breast pockets offer a place to hold a gentleman抯 necessities. The back features two matching buttons while the tails have a single vent.
The coat is fully lined with black acetate while the exterior is made of 70% polyester; 18% wool and 12% rayon for a smooth drape and easy fit.

Our coats are made with typical American sizing, meaning your chest measurement (in inches) is the size you should choose.
To measure your chest: Raise your arms slightly and measure just under your arms. Be sure to cross over the shoulder blades and the fullest part of the chest. If your belly measures larger than your chest, use your belly measurement for coat size.
Longs: If indicated in the selection list (e.g. 46L,) long sizes may also be available. Longs are approximately 2" longer in the back and sleeves.
We were using this jacket as a costume piece for a show. It arrived in record time which was great. We also needed an extra large size which wasn't easy to find anywhere else.
The sleeves needed hemming but that 's ok better than too short. The coat was well made and can be kept for future endeavors. It looked amazing and really added to the character.

Morning Coat
If you got your measurements done well this coat is a wonderful fit. I did some research on how the coat should drape on the person, and this rests really well on me. I am below average height for a Caucasian male in between 5'5" and 5'6". The morning coat is longer than is traditional due to my shorter stature, but I don't mind that at all. It looks like it was tailored just for you if the measurements were done right.

I am in a garage rock band, all of us 55+ years old, and we are beginning to play some larger gigs. I needed something to provide a little more stage presence, so I shopped around and ended up buying this coat. Fits perfectly, perfect look over a T-shirt with black jeans; gave me exactly the look I was after - - not over the top, but unique and a little classy.
The quality of the fabric and the craftsmanship is much better than I expected - - much better than some blazers I have spent much more money for. This coat is good enough quality that I would wear to a formal party. A good purchase!

Worth the wait
I waited two years to buy this coat and when I slipped in on for the first time I was immediately in awe over the feel of the fabric as it draped around my body. The quality of this coat has no equal. I still need to take the coat to a tailor to make the coat form fitting but this coat demands attention as is.

My 6-foot 3-inch tall husband Dan is the epitome of the Victorian gentleman in this beautifully made black cutaway coat. He has a silver collared vest, black trousers, suspenders, white shirt and royal blue puff tie from Historial Emporium to complete his ensemble for our date to the Kirkman House Museum Victorian Ball on Oct. 24. Great Cutaway Coat!
Love the Cutaway Coat I bought for my son's Prom and Graduation! Nice quality!
I bought the low ride holster, but found it didn't suit my waist so I returned it for the high ride. Customer service was exceptional and the quality of the holster I returned was so good I added a cross draw holster with the second rig. I've seen holsters of this quality for more than twice the cost. Got my eye on a pair of boots.
Very pleased with quality of belt and holsters! The tooling is fantastic and it makes the rig look like a million dollars! My husband looks terrific when dressed in black and his buscadaro rig ! You will see many old Hollywood movie cowboys wearing this type of holsters- usually the star!
